YHVH in Human form???
This is just a preliminary rough draft of an article that I am working on...
Oh, but YHVH has appeared in the form of a Man on a number of different occasions in TaNaKh!
Also, let’s get this verse out of the way:
(Bemidbar/Numbers 23:19) “El is not a man, to lie; nor a son of man, to repent! Has He said, and would He not do it; or spoken, and would not confirm it?
This ONE verse does NOT negate the NUMEROUS other verses that are PLAINLY written in Torah. This verse simply says that El is NOT a man to lie, nor a son of man to repent!!! HE does what HE says!!! It does NOT say that El, Elohim, YHVH can NOT appear in the form of a MAN!!! Honestly read ALL the other verses in CONTEXT!!!
And NO, I do NOT hold to the trinity doctrine!!! YHVH Elohim, YHVH ECHAD!!! ONE YHVH, ONE MASHIYACH, ONE TORAH, ONE PEOPLE!!!
Malak YHVH is such an instance in which YHVH takes on the form of a Man.
READ ALL of this, and STOP listening to your sages and teachers who put their teachings above the PURE WRITTEN TORAH, and ultimately above YHVH!!!
These verses are in TORAH, and I do some cross referencing with the Neviim/Prophets, and Ketuvim Netzarim, the Writings of the Netzari, the original Torah observant followers of Yeshua ha Torah Mashiyach!!!
Hagar encounters Malak YHVH...
(Bershith/Genesis 16:6) And Abram said to Sarai, “See, your female servant is in your hand, do to her what is good in your eyes.” And Sarai treated her harshly, and she fled from her presence.
(Genesis 16:7) And the Malak YHVH found her by a spring of water in the wilderness, by the spring on the way to Shur,
(Genesis 16:8) and He said, “Hagar, Sarai’s female servant, where have you come from, and where are you going?” And she said, “I am fleeing from the presence of Sarai, my mistress.”
(Genesis 16:9) And the Malak YHVH said to her, “Return to your mistress, and humble yourself under her hand.”
(Genesis 16:10) And the Malak YHVH said to her, “I am going to increase your seed greatly, too numerous to be counted.”
(Genesis 16:11) And the Malak YHVH said to her, “See, you are conceiving and bearing a son, and shall call his name Yishmael, because YHVH has heard your affliction.
(Genesis 16:12) “And he is to be a wild man, his hand against every one and every one’s hand against him, and dwell over against all his brothers.”
(Genesis 16:13) And she called the Name of YHVH who spoke to her, “You are the El who sees,” for she said, “Even here have I seen after Him who sees me?”
(Genesis 16:14) That is why the well was called Beeer Lahai Roi, see, it is between Qadesh and Bered.
Hagar calls Malak YHVH, ha Shem YHVH who spoke to her, the EL who sees, and then replies even here have I seen after Him who sees me???
How is it that three men appear to Avraham, and from VERY careful reading One of the Men is YHVH, and the other two are malak as is born out by the CONTEXT of Bereshith 19:1.
(Genesis 18:1) And YHVH appeared to him by the terebinth trees of Mamrĕ, while he was sitting in the tent door in the heat of the day.
YHVH appeared to Avraham?
(Genesis 18:2) So he lifted his eyes and looked, and saw three men standing opposite him. And when he saw them, he ran from the tent door to meet them, and bowed himself to the ground,
Three men standing?
(Genesis 18:3) and said, “YHVH, if I have now found favour in Your eyes, please do not pass Your servant by.
(Genesis 18:4) “Please let a little water be brought, and wash your feet, and rest yourselves under the tree.
Avraham wants to wash the FEET of YHVH? Can these be the same FEET of YHVH that will return and land on the Mount of Olives in which the FEET of YHVH ascended from the same Mount of Olives? Read Zekaryah 14:4 and Act 1:9-12:
(Zechariah 14:4) And in that day His feet shall stand upon the Mount of Olives, which faces Yerushalayim on the east. And the Mount of Olives shall be split in two, from east to west, a very great valley, and half of the mountain shall move toward the north and half of it toward the south.
(Acts 1:9) And having said this, while they were looking on, He was taken up, and a cloud hid Him from their sight.
(Acts 1:10) And as they were gazing into the heaven as He went up, see, two men stood by them dressed in white,
(Acts 1:11) who also said, “Men of Galil, why do you stand looking up into the heaven? This same éäåùò, who was taken up from you into the heaven, shall come in the same way1 as you saw Him go into the heaven.” Footnote: 1Zech. 14:4.
(Acts 1:12) Then they went back to Yerushalayim from the Mount of Olives, which is near Yerushalayim, a Sabbath day’s journey.
(Genesis 18:5) “And let me bring a piece of bread and refresh your hearts, and then go on, for this is why you have come to your servant.” And they said, “Do as you have said.”
YHVH and the two malak eating bread?
(Genesis 18:6) So Aḇraham ran into the tent to Sarah and said, “Hurry, make ready three measures of fine flour, knead it and make cakes.”
(Genesis 18:7) And Aḇraham ran to the herd, took a tender and good calf, gave it to a young man, and he hurried to prepare it.
(Genesis 18:8) And he took curds and milk and the calf which he had prepared, and set it before them, and he stood by them under the tree as they ate.
Milk and meat, oops??? Would have been wrong, only if he boiled a kid in its mothers milk.
(Genesis 18:9) And they said to him, “Where is Sarah your wife?” And he said, “See, in the tent.”
(Genesis 18:10) And He said, “I shall certainly return to you according to the time of life, and see, Sarah your wife is to have a son!” And Sarah was listening in the tent door which was behind him.
(Genesis 18:11) Now Aḇraham and Sarah were old, well advanced in age, and Sarah was past the way of women.
(Genesis 18:12) And Sarah laughed within herself, saying, “After I have grown old, shall I have pleasure, my master being old too?”
(Genesis 18:13) And YHVH said to Aḇraham, “Why did Sarah laugh, saying, ‘Shall I truly have a child, since I am old?’
(Genesis 18:14) “Is any matter too hard forYHVH? At the appointed time I am going to return to you, according to the time of life, and Sarah is to have a son.”
(Genesis 18:15) But Sarah denied it, saying, “I did not laugh,” for she was afraid. And He said, “No, but you did laugh!”
(Genesis 18:16) And the men rose up from there and looked toward Seḏom, and Aḇraham went with them to send them away.
The men rose up? YHVH was just speaking and asked why Sarah laughed? Yes YHVH has appeared in the form of a Man before. How can YHVH have walked in the cool of the breeze with Adam and Chawah?
(Genesis 3:8) And they heard the sound of YHVH Elohim walking about in the garden in the cool of the day, and Aḏam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of YHVH Elohim among the trees of the garden.
(Genesis 18:17) And YHVH said, “Shall I hide from Aḇraham what I am doing,
(Genesis 18:18) since Aḇraham is certainly going to become a great and mighty nation, and all the nations of the earth shall be blessed in him?
(Genesis 18:19) “For I have known him, so that he commands his children and his household after him, to guard the way of YHVH, to do righteousness and right-ruling, so that YHVH brings to Aḇraham what He has spoken to him.”
(Genesis 18:20) And YHVH said, “Because the outcry against Seḏom and Amorah is great, and because their sin is very heavy,
(Genesis 18:21) “I am going down now to see whether they have done altogether according to the outcry against it that has come to Me, and if not, I know.”
(Genesis 18:22) So the men turned away from there and went toward Seḏom, but YHVH still stood before Aḇraham.
The men, what men, the two malak that are spoken of in Bershith 19:1. PLEASE NOTE that YHVH, the 3rd Man, still stood before Avraham!!!
(Genesis 18:23) And Aḇraham drew near and said, “Would You also destroy the righteous with the wrong?
(Genesis 18:24) “Suppose there are fifty righteous within the city, would You also destroy the place and not spare it for the fifty righteous that were in it?
(Genesis 18:25) “Far be it from You to act in this way, to slay the righteous with the wrong, so that the righteous should be as the wrong. Far be it from You! Does the Judge of all the earth not do right?”
(Genesis 18:26) And YHVH said, “If I find in Seḏom fifty righteous within the city, then I shall spare all the place for their sakes.”
(Genesis 18:27) And Aḇraham answered and said, “Look, please, I who am but dust and ashes have taken it upon myself to speak to YHVH,
(Genesis 18:28) “Suppose there are five less than the fifty righteous, would You destroy all of the city for lack of five?” And He said, “If I find there forty-five, I do not destroy it.”
(Genesis 18:29) And he spoke to Him yet again and said, “Suppose there are found forty?” And He said, “I would not do it for the sake of forty.”
(Genesis 18:30) And he said, “Let not YHVH be displeased, and let me speak: Suppose there are found thirty?” And He said, “I would not do it if I find thirty there.”
(Genesis 18:31) And he said, “Look, please, I have taken it upon myself to speak to YHVH: Suppose there are found twenty?” And He said, “I would not destroy it for the sake of twenty.”
(Genesis 18:32) And he said, “Let not YHVH be displeased, and let me speak only this time: Suppose there are found ten?” And He said, “I would not destroy it for the sake of ten.”
(Genesis 18:33) Then YHVH went away as soon as He had ended speaking to Aḇraham. And Aḇraham returned to his place.
And now, the two other men, or malak in Bereshith 19:1,
(Genesis 19:1) And the two malak came to Seḏom in the evening, and Lot was sitting in the gate of Seḏom. And when Lot saw them, he rose up to meet them, and he bowed himself with his face toward the ground,
(Genesis 19:2) and he said, “Look, please my masters, please turn in to your servant’s house and spend the night, and wash your feet, and rise early and go your way.” And they said, “No, but let us spend the night in the open square.”
(Genesis 19:3) But he urged them strongly, and they turned in to him and came into his house. And he made them a feast, and baked unleavened bread, and they ate.
(Genesis 19:4) Before they lay down, the men of the city, the men of Seḏom, both old and young, all the people from every part, surrounded the house.
(Genesis 19:5) And they called to Lot and said to him, “Where are the men who came to you tonight? Bring them out to us, and let us ‘know’ them.”
Our forefather Avraham encounters Malak YHVH...
(Bereshith/Genesis 22:10) And Aḇraham stretched out his hand and took the knife to slay his son,
(Genesis 22:11) but the Malak YHVH called to him from the heavens and said, “Aḇraham, Aḇraham!” And he said, “Here I am.”
(Genesis 22:12) And He said, “Do not lay your hand on the boy, nor touch him. For now I know that you fear Elohim, seeing you have not withheld your son, your only son, from Me.”
(Genesis 22:13) And Aḇraham lifted his eyes and looked and saw behind him a ram caught in a bush by its horns, and Aḇraham went and took the ram and offered it up for a burnt offering instead of his son.
(Genesis 22:14) And Aḇraham called the name of the place, ‘YHVH Yireh,’ as it is said to this day, “On the mountain YHVH provides.”
(Genesis 22:15) And the Malak YHVH called to Aḇraham a second time from the heavens,
(Genesis 22:16) and said, “By Myself I have sworn, declares YHVH, because you have done this, and have not withheld your son, your only son,
(Genesis 22:17) that I shall certainly bless you, and I shall certainly increase your seed as the stars of the heavens and as the sand which is on the seashore, and let your seed possess the gate of their enemies.
(Genesis 22:18) “And in your seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed, because you have obeyed My voice.”
How is it that Malak YHVH calls out to Avraham and says By Myself I have sworn, declares YHVH, because you have done this, and have not withheld your son... From the CONTEXT Malak YHVH can ONLY be YHVH! How can Malak YHVH swear by Himself, then it says declares YHVH, and NOT be YHVH?
Mosheh encounters Malak YHVH...
(Shemoth/Exodus 3:1) And Mosheh was shepherding the flock of Yithro his father-in-law, the priest of Miḏyan. And he led the flock to the back of the wilderness, and came to Hòorĕḇ, the mountain of Elohim.
(Exodus 3:2) And the Malak YHVH appeared to him in a flame of fire from the midst of a bush. And he looked and saw the bush burning with fire, but the bush was not consumed.
(Exodus 3:3) And Mosheh said, “Let me turn aside now, and see this great sight, why the bush does not burn.”
(Exodus 3:4) And YHVH saw that he turned aside to see, and Elohim called to him from the midst of the bush and said, “Mosheh! Mosheh!” And he said, “Here I am.”
Picture this if you will, Malak YHVH is in the bush, and it says that Elohim called to him from the midst of the bush, and YHVH was watching this?
(Exodus 3:5) And He said, “Do not come near here. Take your sandals off your feet, for the place on which you are standing is set-apart ground.”
(Exodus 3:6) And He said, “I am the Elohim of your father, the Elohim of Aḇraham, the Elohim of Yitshòaq, and the Elohim of Yaʽaqoḇ.” And Mosheh hid his face, for he was afraid to look at Elohim.
Now we have Malak YHVH claiming to be the Elohim of Avraham, Yitshaq and Yaaqob?
(Exodus 3:7) And YHVH said, “I have indeed seen the oppression of My people who are in Mitsrayim, and have heard their cry because of their slave-drivers, for I know their sorrows.
(Exodus 3:8) “And I have come down to deliver them from the hand of the Mitsrites, and to bring them up from that land to a good and spacious land, to a land flowing with milk and honey, to the place of the Kenaʽanites and the Hòittites and the Amorites and the Perizzites and the Hòiwwites and the Yeḇusites.
And know YHVH is speaking and says I have come down to deliver them...? Malak YHVH, Elohim, and YHVH are ECHAD, ONE in the same!
Bilam encounters Malak YHVH with a sword in HIS Hand...
(Bemidbar/Numbers 22:31) Then YHVH opened Bilam’s eyes, and he saw Malak YHVH standing in the way with His drawn sword in His hand. And he bowed his head and fell on his face.
(Numbers 22:32) And Malak YHVH said to him, “Why have you beaten your donkey these three times? See, I have come out to stand against you, because your way is reckless before Me.
(Numbers 22:33) “And the donkey saw Me and turned aside from Me these three times. If she had not turned aside from Me, I certainly would have killed you by now, and let her live.”
(Numbers 22:34) And Bilam said to Malak YHVH, “I have sinned, for I did not know You stood in the way against me. And now, if evil is in Your eyes, let me turn back.”
(Numbers 22:35) And Malak YHVH said to Bilʽam, “Go with the men, but only the word that I speak to you, that you speak.” Bilʽam then went with the heads of Balaq.
Malak YHVH says to speak only the word I speak to you!!!
(Numbers 22:36) And when Balaq heard that Bilʽam was coming, he went out to meet him at the city of Mo’aḇ, which is on the border at the Arnon, which was in the extremity of the border.
(Numbers 22:37) And Balaq said to Bilʽam, “Did I not urgently send to you, calling for you? Why did you not come to me? Am I not able to esteem you?”
(Numbers 22:38) And Bilʽam said to Balaq, “See, I have come to you! Now, am I at all able to say somewhat? The word that Elohim puts in my mouth, that I speak.”
Bilam declares the word that Elohim puts in my mouth, that I speak, now go back and read verse 35, where Malak YHVH says Go with the men, but only the word that I speak to you, that you speak . Now compare this with Numbers 23:5,
(Numbers 23:5) And YHVH put a word in the mouth of Bilʽam, and said, “Return to Balaq, and this is what you say.”
We have Malak YHVH, Elohim, and YHVH ALL putting a word in the mouth of Bilam. Again, Malak YHVH, Elohim, and YHVH are ECHAD, ONE in the SAME!
Again, this is simply the Word in CONTEXT, and a rough draft of a major article to come!!!
